Introducing Our Community-Curated Cozy Newsletter! đź“°
Hello, my friends! Hopefully by now you’ve had a chance to read through our tier benefits and all the changes we’re making this year to better reflect the Traveling Tomes energy and heart. One of the big additions we’re introducing this year is the Traveling Tomes Newsletter, and I wanted to take a moment to explain what that is, go a little deeper, and make sure we all know what to expect when it arrives in your inbox.
One thing I’ve noticed over the past year in our cozy Discord is just how many beautiful offerings and creative talents exist within this community. From writing and photography to art, hobbies, and recipes, everyone brings something special.
I wanted to create a way not only to showcase those gifts and make sure they’re seen, but also to build something that feels truly meaningful. Our inboxes can get so cluttered, and for me at least, it’s not always the most exciting place to visit. It can feel daunting. So my hope is to send something that lands in your inbox feeling wholesome, kind, and welcoming, something that gently resets your brain for the rest of the week. My goal is for it to look and feel like a scrapbook: an infusion of goodness created entirely by our own community.
Here’s what that looks like practically:
At the beginning of every month, I’ll send out an email introducing the theme and a creative prompt for that month.
This will officially begin in February, but let’s use January as an example. Say the theme is “ritual,” and the prompt is: What little tiny rituals are you bringing into this year? In that initial email, there will also be a Google Form where you can submit offerings throughout the month.
These can be a short piece of writing (no longer than a small paragraph since this is a lengthy newsletter) a poem, a photograph inspired by the theme, a ritual-based recipe, or an image of art that inspired you or that you created yourself. Truly, anything is allowed.
The Google Form will close one week before the end of the month. From there, I’ll choose several submissions to feature in the scrapbook-style newsletter, which will be sent out to everyone with credit, of course. If not all submissions are able to fit into the newsletter, I’ll also create a dedicated Discord channel where the remaining offerings can be viewed later in the month. That way, everyone still gets seen.
Everyone in the follower tier and above will receive this newsletter once a month. However, the ability to submit offerings is reserved as a benefit for our paid tier members.
We’re starting this on February 1st, so keep an eye out for that email and Google Form coming your way.
I’m really excited about this, and I hope you are too! I think it’s going to be a very tender, community-driven effort, and I truly look forward to seeing all the creative offerings you bring this year.
